At The Psychological Foundry for Human Development Initiative (PFI), we believe that the most profound challenges can only be solved when we work together. We recognise that meaningful, transformative work is not achieved in isolation. In a complex and interconnected world, collaboration is not merely an option but an essential component of our identity and our work. We actively seek strategic partnerships with forward-thinking individuals, institutions, and communities that share our commitment to human development, evidence-based practice, and building a better future. Each collaboration, regardless of its scale or formality, is approached with intention, respect, a clear vision, and a robust ethical framework. Our partnership philosophy is founded on the principles of reciprocity, transparency, and mutual benefit. All partnerships must serve to further PFI's mission of advancing psychological science, education, advocacy, and community service while upholding our core values of academic rigour, ethical integrity, inclusion, and innovation.
How We Can Work Together
We engage in a diverse range of collaborations, each defined by its unique structure and objectives. This list clarifies the various forms our partnerships may take, from formal alliances to flexible, impact-driven projects.
Academic and Research Partnerships
We collaborate with universities, colleges, think tanks, and research-focused labs and departments to co-host workshops, webinars, and research symposia, as well as co-author publications, providing students with unique learning, internship, and mentorship opportunities. Our goal is to work with faculty to bridge the gap between academia and practice.
Corporate and Organisational Partnerships
We collaborate with corporations to deliver evidence-based workplace well-being programmes, leadership training, psychological integration at work, and offer unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunities, such as our "Sponsor a Fellow" programme, where you can sponsor the one-year Catalyst programme for a fellow. These collaborations connect companies with a pipeline of highly trained, psychologically astute talent from our organisation.
NGO and Community Partnerships
We collaborate with other NGOs and community-based organisations to co-design and implement impactful outreach programmes and advocacy campaigns on shared issues. Our partnerships with mission-driven NGOs aim to pioneer psychological innovation, promote community services such as grassroots psychological literacy programmes and social experiments for human development, mental health support, and translate psychological research into practical interventions and shared resources.
Types of Alliances and Collaborations
Our partnerships are not limited to the categories above. We engage with a wide range of external entities to expand our collective impact.
Professional Bodies and Academic Associations: We work with both international and national professional organisations to promote shared objectives, including joint advocacy projects, co-developing educational and community resources, and mutual cross-promotion.
Government and Public Institutions: We collaborate with ministries, public health authorities, and government agencies to shape public policy, conduct needs assessments, and implement large-scale programmes.
Healthcare Facilities and Clinical Partners: We work with hospitals, clinics, and mental health centres to support clinical research, internship placements, professional training programmes, community health initiatives, and free community health services.
Tech and Data Organisations: We seek partnerships with companies specialising in technology and data science to develop innovative tools for research, education, and service delivery, including AI models for psychological support.
Media and Communication Outlets: We establish strategic collaborations with media organisations to disseminate psychological knowledge, promote our work, and raise public awareness of vital psychological issues through documentaries, podcasts, and articles.
Philanthropic Foundations and Corporate Partners: We collaborate with funding bodies and companies for grant support and sponsored projects that align with our mission and ethical standards.
Models of Collaboration
Formal Agreements: These encompass arrangements such as Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) or Letters of Intent (LOIs) that formalise long-term commitments with defined objectives and responsibilities.
Project-Based Collaborations: These involve short- to medium-term partnerships centred on a specific project with clearly defined deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
Long-Term Strategic Alliances: These are sustained, multi-year partnerships that involve deep, programmatic integration, resource sharing, and co-governance.
Informal or Grassroots Collaborations: These are flexible, impact-driven engagements with individual researchers, student associations, or small collectives.
Co-Creation Opportunities: Partners are invited to co-design and co-own projects and initiatives from their inception, including through joint needs assessments and design-thinking sessions.
