Ummahani Abdullahi Idris is a Psychology graduate who currently serves as the Assistant to the Executive Director for Communications and Partnership at the Psychological Foundry for Human Development Initiative (PFI). Her interest in psychology began as a simple curiosity to better understand herself and others facing similar challenges, and has grown into a commitment to learning and impact. In her role at PFI, she supports communication and partnership-related tasks and contributes to projects aligned with PFI’s vision of developing well-prepared and capable psychological professionals.
Ummahani completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Federal University, Gombe, where she developed an interest in human behaviour, mental health, and the practical application of psychological knowledge.
At PFI, Ummahani supports her team through research, grant writing, communication, and coordination. She enjoys working in a collaborative environment where ideas are developed into structured and impact-driven initiatives, while continuing to learn and build her skills.
Outside her professional role, Ummahani values growth, purpose, and thoughtful contribution. She is inspired by work rooted in empathy and long-term impact, and believes that continuous learning plays an important role in personal and professional development. Her journey forward is shaped by a desire to keep improving, contribute meaningfully, and apply psychology in practical and people-focused ways.
