Balqis Famuyon is the Content and Media Lead at The Psychological Foundry for the Human Development Initiative (PFI), where she combines creativity, data-driven insights, and a strong commitment to community wellness to communicate psychology in accessible, humane ways. Her work bridges mental health advocacy, digital media, and wellness consulting, shaping narratives that help people understand and prioritise mental well-being in daily life.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Remote Sensing from Obafemi Awolowo University, where she served as Vice President of the National Association of Geography Students (OAU Chapter), and a postgraduate diploma in Information Systems from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada. Since her undergraduate years, she has been passionate about community development, volunteering as a first aid counsellor and creating wellness content that encourages self-care and mental health awareness.
Balqis is currently a Data Analyst and the founder of WellnessHQ Consulting, a wellness education and consulting firm dedicated to making mental health knowledge more accessible, breaking down stigma, and encouraging everyday wellness practices. Through WellnessHQ, she has facilitated workshops and wellness discussions in boardrooms, conferences, and social gatherings, supporting individuals and organisations to explore boundaries, accountability, and emotional well-being in both personal and professional contexts.
At PFI, Balqis oversees content strategy and creative communications, ensuring that psychology is depicted not as distant theory but as a lived experience that empowers individuals and communities. She partners with women-focused organisations to craft wellness workshops that mirror real-life situations and continues to spark conversations that make mental health a shared responsibility.
